Robin tagged me yesterday. My job, as I've chosen to accept it, is to tell you 7 Random Facts about myself. Then, I'll try to find 7 bloggers that haven't been tagged yet to do the same.
1) I only eat one thing at a time. I used to eat the whole thing before moving on to the next thing on my plate. I've gotten a little "better" in my older years and will eat a few bites and then move on.
2) I'm an only child with siblings. My parents divorced and were with significant others by the time I was five. My stepmother had 3 children from her first husband, so I have 2 stepsisters and 1 stepbrother. Since we've been together for so long, I had a brother and sisters that I didn't live with. I'm roommates now with the oldest stepsister, who is 3 months younger than me. It was pretty funny going to bars with the same last name on our ID's and 3 months age difference. :)
3) I'm a collector. I collect first edition signed hardcover books. Mostly modern fiction/mysteries. I also have/had collected shot glasses, knitting machines, yarn (of course), glass paperweights, nutcrackers.
4) I'm a closet humanitarian. I sponsor 2 elderly women through the Humanitarian Service Project every month. I send care packages to deployed soldiers through Books For Soldiers. I occassionally send cage liners to the Snuggles Project.
5) I may be related to some seriously famous people. I'm my dad's side, I could be related to Ronald Reagan. The story goes that 7 Reagan brothers came over from County Cork. The President's ancestor settled in Illinois, and mine settled in Indiana. On my mother's side, my grandfather's last name is Wojdyla. Pope Paul's last name is Wojtyla. It's easy to think that the one initial could've changed when my ancestor came to America. I started working on the genealogy on my dad's side, but haven't gotten far. (I started knitting instead.) One day, I'll pick it up again.
6) I love sharks. I don't love being in the water with them, mind you, just books and shows about them. When I was in 5th grade, I remember chasing a girl around my classroom with a book about shark attacks from the library. She was so scared from the book, I just had to chase her. Come on, it's a book girlie.
7) I'm a movie person. I'll watch movies over and over and over. I have a 300 DVD player. My original intention was to fill it with both my DVDs and all of my CDs, but now my goal is to fill it with all DVDs. I have a little over half full now. One of my all time favorite movies - Jaws (see #6 above).
Now, my 7 blogger friends. Your job, if you choose to accept it, is to continue on and tell us 7 interesting facts about yourselves.
